No internet

Okay.  Well, THAT sucked.

Yesterday around 4pm, before Ben got home from work, our internet crashed.

Surely the end of the world as we know it.

We were looking forward to playing Guild Wars (the online game which we have no time to play during the work week), even had characters lined up to play with quests we planned on doing.

Ben came home and called Comcast (their customer service sucks) and they couldn’t figure out what happened.  It wasn’t a matter of an unpaid bill or trouble in the area.  Since the cable TV (we receive only the local channels since our downgrade 2 years ago) was out, too, they told us they’d send a worker out sometime Tuesday.  TUESDAY?  Um, no.  Ben got them to actually check their service log and what do ya know?  They had an opening Saturday between noon and 4pm!

The dude came and I guess with the woman upstairs moving out, they had disconnected our service when they meant to disconnect hers… something about the tags being switched or whatever.  (What a bunch of idiots.)  So today the dude fixed the tags and activated everything again.  Thanks goodness because a house full of us without the internet or TV means no Guild wars, no YouTube, no email, no blogs, no Pandora, no Hulu, not even a weather report!

Instead, we cleaned the entire house.  (Booooo!!)   At least now everything’s sparkly yummy and we have the next 3 days for a GW marathon while we miss a night of sleep trying to adjust to Ben switching to 3rd shift Tuesday.

So, yay!  We’re back! :)

  1. Woohoo. Hurray for Ben being persistent and ways to solve the problem faster than Tuesday. Cleaning the house is a really constructive way to spend your down time. I am super impressed. Enjoy your GW marathon.

  2. No internet is like the end of the world for me too! I do everything online – blog, facebook, read, play Dungeons and Dragons Online (that is what Bill and I likw to play). When it doesn’t work I am one grumpy gal :) Glad you are back!
