We accept the love we think we deserve

  1. To quote Wolf in the Tenth Kingdom when he asks Virginia why she is so afraid to love. “Well, you may not ever get hurt but you will never be loved either.” We are all human and we put our trust in people, sometimes the wrong people. But if we don’t take the chance we may miss something or someone truly wonderful. For those of us who have been abused we have a hard time with trust. We either trust everyone in a desperate search for acceptance or we trust no one. As for my and the Entourage we would rather error by being too trusting than not trusting anyone. Does it mean we are open to being hurt, yes it does, is it worth it? Doesn’t always feel like it but we wouldn’t have our husband, our best friend and support person. I suspect Ben is the same for you and the family.
